Random Woods has a practical location between I-40 and retail corridor
Living up to its name, Random Woods is an unplanned collection of homes, townhouses, green spaces and industrial businesses. However, the Greensboro neighborhood borders two roads with very deliberate uses. West Gate City Boulevard, which passes Random Woods to the south, is a key commercial corridor with chain retailers, locally owned restaurants and one of the city's largest shopping malls. Meanwhile, Interstate 40 runs along the northern edge of the neighborhood as the highway cuts across Greensboro and much of the state of North Carolina. Both roads add a degree of practicality organization to this seemingly randomly planned neighborhood.
Midcentury homes and townhouses with open layouts
Random Woods primarily features midcentury ranch-style homes and split-level designs on compact lots under half an acre. Single-family homes usually sell from the mid-$100,000s to the mid-$200,000s. There are also dozens of townhomes with distinct designs, says Danielle White, a broker with Heritage Realty Co. "They have very open layouts, with niche walls and other accents that make them special." There has only been one recently sold townhouse, which sold in the lower $200,000s.

Desserts and Four Seasons Town Centre along West Gate City Boulevard
Just south of Random Woods, shopping centers and strip malls on either side of West Gate City Boulevard host are home to a variety of stores and restaurants. They include:
