Annual Greenville Heritage Days in July

At the beginning of July, the annual Greenville Heritage Days is a huge event that brings the community together to celebrate Greenville’s rich history. “The event kicks off with an antique car show run by volunteers who set up 600 to 800 vintage cars along Main Street,” Beck says. Throughout the rest of the event, attendees can find live Blacksmith demonstrations, family-friendly activities and a spectacular firework show. During the holiday season, children can go trick-or-treating at the annual Halloween Parade or visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the annual Christmas Light Parade on Main Street.

Historic homes surround Main Street

Vernacular Queen Annes with cross-gabled roofs and traditional American Foursquares were built in the early 1900s and can be found in residential boroughs surrounding downtown Greenville. Narrow sidewalks connect to paved driveways that lead to detached garages hidden behind two-story houses. Spacious Greek Revivals and Victorian homes built in 1880 are tightly packed along the red brick road on Historic Eagle Street. In Greenville’s rural subdivisions, ranch-style homes from the 1970s feature attached garages and spacious yards surrounded by tall trees. While most Historic homes around Main Street list between $60,000 and $150,000, the more private ranch-style houses sell closer to $250,000.
