Guadalupe is a small town with big character
Guadalupe is a small town of less than one square mile between Phoenix and Tempe at the base of South Mountain. Despite its compact footprint, the area has a distinct character within the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Residents are drawn here for the walkable layout, regional parks and active calendar of public events year-round.
Common features of homes include driveways and RV gates
Guadalupe is mainly a residential community with housing options that include single-family homes and apartments. Houses in the area usually have two or more bedrooms, and though many were built between the 1970s and 1990s, they have undergone interior renovations to include fresh paint and new flooring. Wide driveways make space for multiple cars, and some homes come equipped with RV gates as well. Spacious backyards allow for a day spent sunbathing or taking a dip in the pool on those hot summer days. You'll also find that many homes have fenced front yards. Home prices in this area are often lower than the Arizona average, with the exception of a few homes that have reached up to the mid $500,000 range.
Modest size homes in Guadalupe offer affordable living in a tight-knit community.

Schools and community engagement
The adobe-styled building of Frank Elementary School opened its doors in 1929. Part of the Tempe Elementary School District, Frank Elementary is a technology-based school that gives each student either an iPad or Chromebook to assist in learning. After that, students might attend Fees College Prep Middle School, which has a C Niche grade, then Marcos De Niza High School, with a B. Students who need before or after-school care can go to the Boys & Girls Club, where they can take part in the many sports, education or arts programs. The Boys & Girls Club also offers youth soccer, basketball, and flag football for outdoor recreation. Young baseball enthusiasts can join the Tempe Guadalupe Little League team for their Spring season at Stottlemyre Field. Students and adults can check out bestsellers, literary classics, or documents regarding Guadalupe's history from the Guadalupe Library, which also has a steady slate of clubs for people of all ages.
Local shops to big box retailers
Along Avenida del Yaqui are a variety of businesses, shops, and restaurants, including the Guadalupe Mercado. Residents usually head to Del Yaqui for authentic Mexican cuisine paired with Horchata or Agua Fresca. If you're craving seafood, try the red snapper or ceviche from San Diego Bay. Several convenience stores are available throughout town, but a quick drive down South Priest Drive will take you to Walmart for groceries and daily essentials. If you want items in bulk, you can head to Costco. North of Guadalupe is the expansive Arizona Mills Mall with popular fashion retailers and a movie theater.
