Community in Limestone County that's retained its agricultural roots

Oak Grove-Pisgah is a rural community near the Alabama/Tennessee border. This unincorporated community is part of the larger Limestone County, which includes other nearby towns like Athens and Elkmont. The Cherokee and Chickasaw tribes inhabited the area before being forcibly removed as part of the Cherokee Land Cession in 1806. The county was established in 1818, with the area where Oak Grove-Pisgah now sits being primarily used for agriculture. After the Civil War, Limestone County saw a major population boom fueled by reconstruction. Today, Oak Grove-Pisgah still retains its agricultural roots while recently expanding the number of homes available.
