A historic community in Hattiesburg
Since 2002, Hattiesburg's Parkhaven has been on the National Register of Historic Places. "The houses are very exclusive," says Keyshaun Spencer , a Hattiesburg resident and local Realtor with Wells Realty LLC. "People here aren't looking to move, but mostly likely retire and stay." Some residents stay in contact through a Facebook group with over 1,600 followers. The community is a part of Midtown, with seasoned homes and the active thoroughfare, Hardy Street, to the north. "The neighborhood is near everything, but still feels secluded," Spencer says. Residents gather for trash pick-up days and have neighborhood association meetings at the local Parkway Heights Methodist Church.
