The area has a weekly farmers market off West McKinley Avenue on Saturdays in the summer and fall months. Residents look forward to Mardi Gras season in February, which includes many block parties with music, food and art vendors. Entertainment can be found 16 miles away at Regal Louisiana Boardwalk on any day of the week. Hot Wheels Skating Palace is a nearby indoor destination that is also very popular with locals.
