I think there are somewhere around 70 lakes in North Idaho, the main ones being Coeur d’Alene, Hayden and Pend Oreille,” says Desiree Jones, a Realtor with eXp Realty and longtime North Idaho resident. “There’s just so much to do. We have ice fishing in the winter and regular fishing in the summer. There’s lots of hunting and hiking trails.” Home to around 16,000 people, Hayden offers a comparable housing market to nearby Coeur d’Alene but with fewer crowds. Subdivisions are transforming the rural landscape, with new construction homes butting up against lakes, hills and golf courses.
