Teeing off and diving into North Idaho recreation
Avondale Golf Club is one of the main outdoor attractions in the neighborhood. This par-72 course is semi-private, offering memberships but also open to the public for daily fees. The scenic course has waterfalls, mature trees and manicured greens that it claims are some of the best in North Idaho. Close-by is Hayden Lake Country Club, a private course just south of the neighborhood. Also a par-72 course, this club was the first 18-hole layout in Idaho when it opened in 1912. Honeysuckle Beach is about 1.5 miles south of the neighborhood and is one of two public access points for Hayden Lake, the other being Sportsman Park on the lake’s far north side. Residents can visit the beach to swim, fish, or begin a day of boating on the water. Avondale Lake is a private body of water, so the only people with access are homeowners whose properties back up to the lake. Residents can fish from their private docks or paddle around the lake in kayaks or canoes.Custom homes with pristine lake views

Almost every home is on the golf course or has lake views, so it’s a really beautiful community,” says Connie Nelson, a real estate advisor with Tomlinson Sotheby’s International Realty, who has sold multiple homes in the area. Larger homes can cost between $750,000 and $1 million.Enjoying local meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner

The rustic cabin-style eatery has craft beer and pub food like burgers and tacos. Other restaurants are further west in Hayden, like Blue Plate Café, a breakfast and lunch spot known for its omelets and chicken fried steak.
