Residents of McCullough Hills have an abundance of outdoor activities to choose from. When they want to remain local, they simply walk or bike over to Acacia Park, the community’s largest. There, they can shoot hoops, toss a baseball or burn off energy on the covered playground while pups run free in the dog park. Those interested in desert landscaping might visit the Acacia Demonstration Gardens for visual examples of landscaping best practices and possibilities. Sports enthusiasts flock to Paseo Verde Park’s ball fields and tennis courts, and seasoned hikers like Reunion Trails Park for the Amargosa Trail. At the southernmost edge of the community winds the McCullough Hills Trail. The eight-mile stretch runs across the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area and is great for equestrians, hikers and cyclists. On a Friday afternoon, folks might run into the Dog Hiking Club of Las Vegas.

Restaurants, grocers and big box retailers near the highway
Living in McCullough Hills means that shopping and dining options are close. A short drive west on the 215 brings locals to Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino for a night out of gaming and dining. West Horizon Ridge Parkway allows for an evening closer to home, exploring restaurants like Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, Il Chianti Italian and Le Café du Val. Residents pick up their groceries at WinCo Foods and Vons just off the highway. There are also several big box retailers along the main thoroughfares.

McCullough Hills' luxury homes feature options
Contemporary and modern architecture blends desert scenery with a variety of home styles from local builders. Quail Ridge offers upscale duplexes with three to four bedrooms and two-car garages. Homes in Horizon’s Edge provide spectacular views of the Las Vegas Valley from terraced lots. Driving is the most practical
Owning a car is the best way to navigate McCullough Hills. This is especially true for reaching nearby cities like Downtown Henderson. The 4-mile stretch takes 10 minutes to reach by car and approximately four times that by bus. A commute to Las Vegas for work or otherwise takes an hour and a half by bus and a third of that time by car.

Attending class in McCullough Hills
Students in McCullough Hills can attend class at John C. Vanderburg Elementary, rated A-minus by Niche. Bob Miller Middle earns a B-plus overall. Foothill High School rounds out the list with a B grade. The school partners with the College of Southern Nevada for a dual enrollment program allowing students to earn college credits.
