Lake Avalon Groves sits among farmland and nurseries, giving the neighborhood a rural feel that belies its convenience to shopping and dining. A handful of properties also back onto Lake Avalon, offering private fishing and boating docks. “It’s really nice,” says Ronald Ziolkowski, a Realtor with RE/MAX Prime Properties, who has been selling in the area for over 20 years. “It’s oversized, lots more of a country feel to it and makes you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but second from shops and restaurants."

Lake Avalon has several public access points for fishing and walking paths. Other nearby lakes include John’s, Black and Speer. The facility also hosts professional golf tournaments on the LIV Golf tour. Indoor activities in Horizon West include a movie theatre, the Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park. Disney World is 9 miles southeast, while other Orlando parks, including Universal and SeaWorld, are farther east.
Shopping and Dining in Horizon West
Downtown, 4 miles south, is home to multiple chains and local restaurants. Bosporus Turkish Cuisine is a regional chain that serves authentic Turkish and Mediterranean dishes. The French Café offers breakfast, baked goods and coffee drinks. Home State Brewing Company has craft beer, sandwiches and salads.Horizon West has a Walmart and a Publix on Hamlin Groves Trail. More big box retailers are in Winter Garden Village on Daniels Road. Orlando Health Horizon West Hospital is 4 miles south, adjacent to the golf course.

The Daniel Webster Western Beltway runs adjacent to the community and connects to Interstate 4 to the south and Florida’s Turnpike to the north. Orlando International Airport is 27 miles east.
