A recreational, residential town near Houston
Nestled under tree canopies between I-59 and Brays Bayou, the Braeburn neighborhood has grown from a postwar development into an established residential community in the Houston area. The massive Braeburn Country Club was a Houston staple by the time the neighborhood's first house was built, and recent decades have seen housing sprout up around its greens and tees. “Braeburn is known for its great golf course, which makes homes a little more expensive than the surrounding area, but they’re also nicer quality,” says Chad Cabrera, a Realtor with 5th Stream Realty who has worked in the area for almost a decade. The neighborhood has direct access to popular Houston destinations such as the NRG Stadium and the Houston Zoo, as well as the Texas Medical Center, which is also a major employer.

The geographic center of Braeburn is the Braeburn Country Club, built in 1926 and remodeled in the early 2020s. In addition to its vast course, with access between green and tee complexes, the club includes a pool, fitness center and a restaurant. The tree canopies that shade the residences extend to the neighborhood’s parks and nature trails. Brays Bayou skirts the neighborhood and offers more than 30 miles of walking trails, while Braeburn Glen Park includes a tennis center and a large playground. Bonham Family Nature Park is a small green space where people go to host picnics or walk the dogs. For indoor recreation, residents head to Bayland Community Center for organized sports and activities. They also regularly visit Braeburn Valley Baptist Church and other places of worship nearby for religious gatherings and community events.

There is rarely any crime in the area it's very safe. There is a curfew to the children, that they can't play outside at 9:00 pm. Every once in while there will there security at night.
