Under the pine cover outside Houston’s North Loop
Eastex-Jensen has a second name – Houston’s "Super Neighborhood 46," where businesses and civic organizations come together to form a large community. The neighborhood is outside the North Loop and consists of native pines and residential subdivisions dotted between community parks and local markets. Residents can also spot some standout landmarks like La Luz Del Mundo Houston Central, an ornate Greco-Roman church complete with a soaring golden dome on top. The neighborhood is also in a prime location that is less than 15 miles from both downtown Houston and the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. “The area is perfectly situated between the middle of downtown and, on the south side, Spring and The Woodlands,” says Cory Gutowski, a Realtor with Key 2 Texas. “In my experience, residents are so close-knit because they grew up here and have family members who still live in the area.”
