Inside one of Houston’s fastest-growing suburbs
Grand Mission is one of the many master-planned communities in the Houston metro that has been steadily growing for decades. The neighborhood is part of the Richmond Fort Bend expansion project, which has turned the suburb of Richmond into a highly desirable area filled with new homes, updated schools and multiple parks and fitness facilities. The project has also resulted in more local highways leading into Houston, and Grand Mission borders two of these routes: West Park Tollway and Grand Parkway. “At one point, it was one of the biggest commercial areas in the United States,” says Richard Elkowitz, a residential agent at RE/MAX Signature. “There are few areas of the country that have grown as fast as the Richmond area.” All these changes have given Grand Mission the reputation of being a well-contained community where locals do not have to leave their neighborhood to enjoy convenient travel, high-quality education, scenic parks and great local restaurants.
Grand Mission has something to offer every potential home buyer.

Fort Bend Schools receive top ranks in the region
Grand Mission is zoned within the Fort Bend Independent School District (ISD), which has an overall A grade on Niche and is ranked the third-best school system in the county. “Richmond has stepped up and made their schools really good because next door, Katy is a destination for people coming out of the area because of their schools,” says Kimberly Patel, a Realtor and Team Lead for Top Key Properties Group at Coldwell Banker Realty. Fort Bend ISD schools include Mission West Elementary School and David Crockett Middle School, which both have a B-plus grade on Niche. The B-rated George Bush High School has many fine arts programs, including the George Bush Bronco Band and the Illusions Dance Team. Grand Mission is within 15 miles of two University of Houston locations – the Sugar Land campus to the south and the Katy campus to the north.

This area includes multiple features, including a dog park, hiking trails, a shooting range and a boardwalk overlooking the Barker Reservoir.
