Central to Houston
Vintage vibes meet modern-day living in Meadowbrook-Allendale, a community established just before World War II that continues to grow with the times. "It's a pretty central location. The only thing that takes longer than 20 minutes is Galveston Island, which takes 35 minutes. We have this calm and peaceful place, but we're not too far from the fun," says Michelle Miranda, vice president of the Oaks Meadows Civic Club and 26-year resident. Meadowbrook-Allendale is home to several major chemical plants and an industrial area, but this is balanced by the greenbelt along the Sims Bayou to the west. Directly south of the neighborhood is William P. Hobby Airport, which may create some air traffic sound occasionally but certainly only adds to the area's convenience.
Beyond academics, Park Place Elementary School encourages students to explore their passions.
Meadowbrook-Allendale has an artistic spirit as can be seen in different murals in the area.

Glenbrook Park has been a neighborhood anchor for decades. It’s on the greenbelt just west with acres of grassy areas and a public swimming pool families love. The park connects to the 132-acre Houston Botanic Gardens features a variety of intentional gardens – including a culinary garden with medicinal herbs, a community garden full of thriving vegetables, and a global collection garden with species from tropical, subtropical, and arid zones. Charles H. Milby Park is just north of the neighborhood with several soccer fields, two lighted tennis courts, a disc golf course, a playground for children and a short walking trail. The city plans to connect this park to Glenbrook Park via a more extensive hike and bike trail. Charles H. Milby Park is next to the areas refineries, and some say it leaves a slight chemical smell in the air.

My area of living is more for a place to sleep, rather than a place to work. Unless you are a teacher because there are about 4 schools close to my area.
