Enslow Park residents have quick access to Hal Greer Boulevard, a thoroughfare lined with restaurants and more. Frostop Drive-In is a popular pick. Part of a small chain, it's sign is unmistakable, a huge root beer mug on its roof. Like the sign suggests, the root beer is a popular menu choice and the restaurant has hot dogs and onion rings on the menu. “Frostop is an institution,” Legg says. “It’s great, and it’s been around for decades. People love it. You sit in your car, roll down your window and they set the tray out and bring you your food. They also have a picnic area where you can go and walk up to the window and order.” There’s also a location of the West Virginia-based chain Tudor’s Biscuit World on Hal Greer, a spot known for its breakfast biscuits. Locals knock out grocery shopping at the Kroger roughly a mile north, on Seventh Avenue.Ritter Park is a photogenic space for recreation
Ritter Park’s walking and running paths, hiking trails and playground help locals stay active. The park has a rose garden with more than 3,300 individual roses, that sometimes double as a spot for weddings. The park’s fountain is another signature feature, a space that also can be reserved for events. “You have a really nice fountain with stonework,” says Todd Nelson, a local Realtor with Old Colony Realtors of Huntington who has almost 20 years of experience. “A lot of area high school students use the fountain for homecoming and prom pictures.”I-64 is a close-by asset
The 303-bed Cabell Huntington Hospital is nearby on Hal Greer Boulevard. Part of the Marshall University healthcare system, the teaching hospital has a dedicated children's hospital and serves Huntington and the eastern Kentucky region.
