Condos and townhomes cluster in the middle of Weatherly Heights and along its northern border. Prices range from $107,000 for a two-bedroom ground floor condo built in 1965 to $439,000 for a three-bedroom condo built in 2007 in the Villas at Jones Valley.
The Sandra Moon Community Complex has a fantastic new playground
Once occupied by Grissom High School, the new Sandra Moon Community Complex is transforming itself into a recreational, cultural and educational hotspot. Kicking off the upgrades was the 2023 opening of an 18,000-square-foot ADA-accessible playground. The complex is also home to pickleball courts and the South Huntsville Public Library. A convenient spot for immersing in nature is the 1000-acre Blevins Gap Nature Preserve, which has a northern and southern section. Trails in the north section are steep and rocky. “There is a little creek with waterfalls after it rains,” says Melanie Manson, marketing director for the Land Trust of Northern Alabama. “The Jones Loop Trail is the one I’d recommend.” Sunsets are a highlight in the south section, Manson says, and a good viewing spot is just off the main parking lot. “Bring a picnic and enjoy the sunset with your dinner.”Students will find interesting clubs at Mountain Gap Middle

Downtown Huntsville is 6 miles north of Weatherly Heights, and Huntsville International Airport is 20 miles west. Route 231 is a busy commercial corridor, and it intersects with Interstate 565. Other key streets include Bailey Cove Road, which runs north-south, and Weatherly and Lily Flagg Roads, the two major east-west paths. Realtor Gloria Page with Keller Williams and Zach Taylor Real Estate notes that people will drive to must-see destinations, given the proximity. “They’ll check out Unclaimed Baggage, which is a little east of here,” she says, referring to the quirky retailer known for selling luggage lost on airlines.
