Mountain living without the mountain remoteness
Though it’s perched atop a mountain ridge, the Floyd Hill neighborhood is also just off Interstate 70, appealing to those who want the best of mountain life and easy access to Denver and other urban amenities. “It’s a little bit farther out than some nearby neighborhoods in Evergreen, but it’s still really convenient for commuters thanks to I-70,” says Mary Rosinski, Realtor with Keller Williams Realty and longtime resident of the area. “It’s not as quiet or secluded, but that’s part of why a lot of people really like it.”
Traditional mountain homes and mountain contemporary estates
Floyd Hill styles range from rustic cabin-inspired homes to modern mountain contemporary estates, often featuring wrap-around decks and ceiling-high windows that let residents take in the beauty of the mountain all day. “You have mountain range views on one side and Continental Divide views on the other,” Rosinski says. “And even with it being a bit farther out, you still have county-maintained roads, so it’s great for people that want to be in the mountains without feeling like they have to deal with everything that comes with that.” Lot sizes are typically larger than what can be found in more urban areas, giving homeowners a sense of seclusion. Prices generally range from $450,000 to $750,000 for more traditional homes. In contrast, larger mountain estates – often custom-built and on significant acreage – can range from just under $1 million to over $2 million.
