Randall is an Independence neighborhood with family-friendly amenities
In the city of Independence, it’s sometimes hard to get away from reminders of former President Harry S. Truman, which makes sense, given that Truman is the city's most famous resident. A lesser-known associate and close advisor of Truman’s was William J. Randall, a fellow Independence native for whom the neighborhood of Randall is named. A former lawyer, county judge and member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Randall was also a devoted family man known to appreciate time spent outdoors. So the choice of name for this particular neighborhood was a natural one, as Randall reflects its namesake in both areas. “It’s a great neighborhood. It’s very family friendly, and it’s far enough away from downtown so that you have peace and quiet, but you also have easy access to amenities,” says Brad Carrender owner of Home Sweet Home Realty.
Housing is a mix of midcentury, contemporary offerings
The neighborhood's housing options are a mix of midcentury homes and modern construction. Traditional ranch-style and multi-level midcentury homes are prominent designs that grace walkable neighborhood streets filled with mature trees. The community's largest and most expensive homes are concentrated in subdivision settings. Prices range from just under $100,000 to around $350,000.
