Ben Davis High is a high school football Giant
Wayne Township School District, which receives a B-grade on Niche and ranks sixth in Indiana for diversity, serves Chapel Hill-Ben Davis. Five elementary schools are in the neighborhood: Bridgeport, Chapel Glen, Chapelwood, McClelland and Westlake. Those students move on to Chapel Hill Middle School, which receives a C-rating. Ben Davis High School, named for the railroad man who literally put the area on the map by building a train stop here in the 1880s, has more than 3,300 students. The Giants are a powerhouse in several sports, with 10 state championships in football as well as four in both boys and girls basketball. Ben Davis also has a student-run FM radio station. Students seeking a different high school experience can attend Ben Davis University High, which offers smaller class sizes and credits towards an associate's degree from Vincennes University.
