It receives a score of seven out of 10 for homicide, assault with weapon, robbery and motor vehicle theft. In 2021, Indianapolis implemented a $150 million dollar violence reduction strategy. The plan helped to reduce criminal homicides by 31%, and non-fatal shootings by 20% in its first two years, according to Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett.
