Every April, the music world turns its attention to the Coachella Valley, and the Indian Palms Country Club community is moments from all the action. This Indio neighborhood offers an active lifestyle, with a golf course and resort-style pool, and you're close to all the events at the Empire Polo Club. Detached single-family homes and condos fill the gated community, and prices usually range from the lower $200,000s to the upper $600,000s. There are multiple HOAs across the community, and monthly fees can range from around $80 to $300 a month. Most HOAs give homebuyers memberships to the golf course and lifestyle center. You'll also find many second homes and short-term rentals, because some people buy properties to rent out during the spring, which is festival season for the area. Linda Locklear is a broker and Realtor with The Locklear Group, and she's helped homebuyers find their spot in Indian Palms. "The community has a nice mix of rental properties, second-home owners and full-time residents," she says. "Some properties include 50-foot garages designed to store large RVs. These garages are popular with car enthusiasts."

Being within walking distance of the Coachella music festival and more
The community's location means residents are always moments from some of the biggest festivals in the Coachella Valley. The nearby Empire Polo Club is a major destination, which Locklear says is within walking distance of Indian Palms. The biggest event here is the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival every April, which draws people from all over the world for two weekends of shows. "They have other events there, too," Locklear says. "We have polo, which is really fun to watch. We also have the dog show." The Kennel Club of Palm Springs Dog Show happens in early January, and it's one of the largest American Kennel Club shows in the country.

Routes to Palm Springs and Los Angeles
People drive to get around the valley, especially when heading to areas like Palm Springs, around 20 miles away. The drive takes about 30 minutes to reach the city or the Palm Springs International Airport. Trails range from easy boardwalks to moderate hikes, like the Pushawalla Palms Loop Trail.
