What buyers often pay for single-family homes and townhouses

Single-family homes are a large portion of the market, with streetscapes reflecting the mid-sized suburban development that took shape through the mid- to late 1900s. Ramblers, bungalows and two-story New Traditional homes can run from the lower $200,000s to nearly $1.5 million. Townhomes often sell between the lower $100,000s and the upper $400,000s. Prices in Inver Grove Heights are relatively in line with those in nearby communities like Rosemount and Eagan. “I’d say it's more competitive than outer suburbs and inner-city locations,” says Brian Hurt, a Realtor with Re/Max Results who has sold in the area for more than 20 years.

There are plenty of parks and a historic pier to visit

Inver Grove Heights has more than 30 parks to explore. North Valley Park and South Valley Park, two of the most popular, are connected by a trail. The northern park provides an 18-hole disc golf course, pickleball courts and baseball fields, and the southern park has a performance plaza and an archery range. Along the Mississippi River, the historic Rock Island Swing Bridge has been converted into a recreational pier with panoramic river views. It's part of Swing Bridge Park, the trailhead for the Mississippi River Greenway, a paved hiking and biking trail that spans nearly 30 miles.
