Miller’s Bar is a famed Michigan pick for burgers, originally established in Dearborn in 1941 before opening its small take-out counter and no-frills dining room in Jackson more than 80 years later. On the other side of the neighborhood, near the Jackson County Health Department and other government offices on Lansing Avenue, Rocky Top Beer BBQ has a rotating menu of brisket, pulled pork and smokehouse fare alongside more than 20 draft brews from Michigan and around the country. Familiar casual stops such as Qdoba Mexican Eats, Potbelly Sandwich Works and Starbucks are also available nearby. Target, Kroger and Meijer are the nearest stops for everyday items, with additional box stores like The Home Depot, Best Buy and Kohl’s available at the mall.Music festivals, movie nights and county fairs

Popular events in downtown Jackson include the Cruise-In and Concert series, which combines a car show with the sound of local bands once a month during the summer season.Learning experiences at Jackson schools
