Timeless living just south of downtown Jackson
Many of the houses and buildings of Partnership Park date back to the early days of the 20th century, when the foundations of the current downtown Jackson area began to take shape. One of the city’s most enduring stops anchors the neighborhood at the corner of Blackstone and Wilkins: Hinkley Bakery, a doughnut shop in business for more than 110 years. Marked with yellow “Chocolate Road” and “Donut Street” signs on the side of the brick building, the bakery has been a Jackson favorite for doughnuts since it opened in the neighborhood in 1913, frequently attracting out-the-door lines from residents walking a few blocks down and guests making the trip from around town. The shop’s surroundings lean residential, but locals can easily walk north to more businesses in downtown Jackson or hop on one of the neighborhood’s numerous bus stops to travel across the city.
