Centrally located area 15 minutes from Jacksonville
Arlington Hills, 15 minutes from Jacksonville, is a community close to everything. Arlington Hills was one of the first built-out neighborhoods after the construction of the Mathews Bridge in 1953, which connected the Arlington area to the Jacksonville area. “You’re about 15 minutes from downtown, 20 minutes to the airport, 25 to the beach,” says Amy Feick, realtor with eXp Realty. “It’s really centrally located.” Arlington Hills is 5 minutes from Jacksonville University, a private liberal arts college that gives back to the community through the Communities in Schools of Jacksonville program. University students mentor youth at risk of dropping out at the local Terry Parker High School and Arlington Middle School.

Condos and townhouses with single-family homes
Arlington Hills has many residences that are nestled close together in subdivisions, filled with a mixture of orderly gridlines and curvy roadways. Along these streets are homes built between the 1960s to the 2010s. Minimal traditional houses sit within the same neighborhood as split-levels, ranch-style buildings and Mid-century modern structures. “It’s a nice neighborhood, quiet and across from the river,” says Feick. “Good for first-time home buyers and families, one of the more affordable zip codes east of the river.” Homes in the area range in price from $160,000 to $415,000. Single-family condos and townhouses go for $160,000 to $250,000, while single-family homes go for $200,000 to $415,000.
The Neighborhood is laid out in a nice grid in some areas.

It's only great if you're driving. Public transport takes an insane amount of time and is usually late, taxi's are very expensive as well

Compared to areas such as the west-side and downtown, this place is fine; however, that being said, there is a decent amount of drug related crimes that take place in and around the area.

This is not the greatest part of town, but nor is it the worst. Terry Parker High has recently made some great strides towards becoming an A school; however, some areas with houses have declined whereas areas with apartments seem to have gotten a little worse over the years. Employment is as bad as its been for years now, regardless of this particular part of the city, and crime has always been a factor in any civilization - and more common in the apartments.
