Small subdivision near retail, shopping and A-rated schools
Doublegate is a wooded and amenity-filled neighborhood in Johns Creek. “Once you’re in Johns Creek, it’s hard to leave,” says Juli St. George, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Intown Atlanta and a longtime local. “It was a quiet area north of Atlanta. Now, it’s a sought-after suburb where people want to live.” Neighbors here gather at the private tennis and swim club for weekend matches and summer swim meets. Doublegate is part of the larger Autrey Mill community, which developed in the 1980s and 1990s but has roots stretching back to the late 1800s. Today, the Doublegate Homeowners Association keeps things organized, and the neighborhood’s location puts parks, shopping and highly rated schools within easy reach. The neighborhood also has a low CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10.
State Bridge Crossing Elementary School, located in Johns Creek, is known for its dedication to providing a high-quality education to its students.

The neighborhood association organizes adult socials in October, offering a homecoming feel for grown-ups. During Halloween, residents dress in their spookiest costumes and gather for pizza by the pool.

Doublegate is close to several other recreational hubs less than 5 miles away. The Atlanta Athletic Club is Atlanta’s oldest golf club, founded in 1898. It features two championship courses with zoysia and bermudagrass. The Northeast Spruill Oaks Library is down the street, and the Abbotts Bridge Recreation Area along the Chattahoochee River has a boat launch for kayaking.

Classic architecture and spacious yards near State Bridge Crossing Elementary
Doublegate’s entrance on Twingate Road is marked by two large brick signs displaying the neighborhood’s name, set against landscaped flowers and bushes. Cul-de-sacs are scattered throughout the neighborhood, and spacious yards span up to half an acre. Tall, leafy trees and undeveloped woodlands give many homes a secluded feel. Doublegate's narrow roads don’t have sidewalks, but they lead to paved, curved driveways and homes built in the 1980s and 1990s. Cape Cod, Colonial Revival and French Provincial influenced styles range from 3,000 to 5,000 square feet. Homes rarely go up for sale, but the median price over the past year was around $880,000. Residents also pay HOA fees. “HOAs create a close-knit feel, where you’re part of a community within the city,” St. George says. “They help keep neighborhoods well-maintained and desirable.”
State Bridge Crossing Elementary School, located in Johns Creek, is indeed well-regarded for its commitment to providing a high-quality education to its students.
