Prospect-Woodvale
Early 1900s homes line narrow streets with mountain views
On the neighborhood's east side, homes are mostly American Foursquares from the early 1900s. Some have been well-maintained over the years while others need significant repairs. They sit close together on hilly streets overlooking the nearby mountains. Front lawns are usually small, and garages are rare, so residents park on residential streets. Homes are similar on the west side, though lot sizes are sometimes bigger and flanked by mature trees. Prices range from about $40,000 to about $60,000 and are usually based on the condition of the house.Prospect Housing Development is on the east side and offers units to low-income residents with one to four bedrooms. The housing complex recently underwent renovations when significant structural issues were identified. Residents had to move out in March 2023, and as of January 2025, they have been invited to move back into their homes.
Regarding crime, Prospect-Woodvale scores a 6 out of 10 on the CAP Index, two points higher than the national average.
