Resort-style living on Lake Travis
In the Hill Country about 35 miles northwest of Austin, Northshore lies along a bend of Lake Travis. The area is part of The Hollows on Lake Travis, a 1,400-acre master-planned community offering resort-style living with some gated subdivisions. Amenities within the community include multiple pools, athletic courts and 10 miles of hiking trails. Beyond the friendly streets of Northshore, life revolves around relaxing on Lake Travis, which was created by damming the Colorado River in 1939. The lake caters to all those who enjoy time on the water: boaters, anglers, swimmers and sunbathers. Northshore is situated near the town of Lago Vista, where highly regarded public schools serve students. It is also a short drive to other Hill Country destinations, like Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge and the trails at Lago Vista Sunset Park. Whether homeowners are looking for a primary residence or a seasonal lake house, Northshore offers a luxury lakeside community with plenty of recreational opportunities. The neighborhood has an overall CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10, compared with the national average of 4.

Spending the day out on Lake Travis
Northshore is at the center of the action on Lake Travis, with activities ranging from kayaking and fishing to swimming and sunbathing. Boats regularly gather at Devil’s Cove for parties and drop anchor at Starnes Island. Every spring, hundreds of boats participate in the Turnback Regatta, a long-distance sailboat race sponsored by the Austin Yacht Club. Residents have easy access to Northshore Marina at the Hollows, the lake’s only deepwater floating marina that’s open to the public. Northshore Marina has the biggest boat slips on Lake Travis, with spots capable of berthing boats up to 80 feet long. Additionally, the Hollows offers storage for kayaks and paddleboards. Depending on membership level, Nautical Boat Club members have access to a wide selection of watercraft and gear, such as sportboats, wake boards and water skis. As it is Texas, the weather out on the lake can get hot, and severe storms are possible in the area.

Luxury homes and condos by Lake Travis
Quiet residential roads without lane lines or sidewalks wind through the community. Low-lying trees surround homes, providing a sense of privacy and seclusion. First-time visitors to the community could be forgiven for thinking that they’d taken a wrong turn and found themselves in a relatively undeveloped part of the Hill Country. But the stylish residences that dot those roads suggest otherwise. Homes include spacious, contemporary properties and cottage-inspired residences with sleek wood and stone exteriors. Prices range from about $560,000 to $6.5 million, depending on factors like square footage and proximity to the water. Homes under $1 million tend to be a bit removed from the shore. Homes in the gated subdivision typically cost more than $800,000. Homes closer to $6.5 million sit right on the shore, featuring views of passing boats and sitting within walking distance of the Northshore Marina; these spacious properties frequently also have their own pools and up to seven bedrooms. Condos that were built in 2006 may also provide lakefront views, and they range in price from about $330,000 to $570,000, depending on size.
Property Owners Association dues total $205 per month and cover services like landscape maintenance, property insurance and common area utilities. In addition to POA and Club dues, condo owners also pay The Hollows Condominium Association dues of $800 per month. Those dues cover water and trash services, property insurance, common area maintenance and other services. Exterior changes to a home require approval by the Architectural Review Board.
