“It’s in the same area [as Cedar Ridge], so it has the same perks as far as closeness to the hospitals, country club and the Kansas line, but it’s more of a luxury neighborhood,” says Wyatt Jones, Realtor with Charles Burt Realtors Inc. “There are a lot of doctors, retirees, stuff like that."

Luxury stone and brick homes on an acre
This neighborhood is the most expensive in the city, with an average sale price of about $740,000. Its homes, which are 4,700 square feet on average and sit on about an acre each, are also some of the city's largest.
“It’s very well taken care of, and the homes are pretty impressive,” Jones says. “Like other neighborhoods in the area, the houses are made of stone and brick, but they’re larger and more luxurious.”
The most common home styles are modest-sized modern traditional and colonial revival homes, most of which are custom-built. They sit on well-kept, neat lots, partially hidden behind established trees. Long paved driveways lead to attached two-car garages, and most properties have backyard swimming pools. Most homes sell between $450,000 and $850,000, but there are many that sell for upwards of $1 million. The HOA fee is $300 annually.

Joplin Christian Academy 2 miles away
Nearby public schools include Cecil Floyd Elementary, North Middle and Joplin High, all of which have C-plus ratings on Niche. Most residents, however, choose to send their children to private schools. Joplin Christian Academy has not yet been rated on Niche but is located about 2 miles north of Arbor Hills. Established in 1998, the school moved into its new building in 2019. It utilizes an Accelerated Christian Education curriculum called PACEs, which integrates biblical teachings with academic content.
The Joplin Christian Academy is a private Christian school.

Twin Hills Golf & Country Club
Arbor Ridge Residents are two miles south of Twin Hills Golf & Country Club. The member-owned country club features an 18-hole golf course, an event venue, a swimming pool and more. Both members and non-members can rent out the event venue for celebrations, utilize the fine and casual dining spaces, and enjoy select events throughout the year. The Summer Concert Series and Summer Social Mixers are a few events that non-members can attend.
US 44 on-ramp close but not too close
Both Freeman Hospital West and Mercy Hospital Joplin are major employers in the city — and they’re less than 5 miles east of this neighborhood. An onramp for US 44 is 3 miles south of this community, so residents are minutes from a major highway, but they don’t have to deal with the noise. Arbor Hills is driver-centric, so owning at least one car is essential.

Most shopping and dining options are at least two miles outside Arbor Hills. Sakura Sushi & Grill Japanese Restaurant is on West 32nd Street and is a popular, laid-back sushi restaurant with a vast menu. Residents can grab groceries from the Walmart Neighborhood Market on South Maiden Lane and everyday essentials from the Walmart Supercenter on Route 66.
