Convenience and calm in central Joplin
A central location – and proximity to the Rangeline Road shopping district – is one of the biggest appeals for Joplin's Campbell Park South neighborhood, but at its heart this community is a quiet residential area where modern homes overlook green spaces and walking trails. "Outside of the neighborhood there are a lot of people coming and going and heavier traffic, but this area from Connecticut to Rangeline is a lot more subdued and residential," says Gary Mishler, Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Elevate in Joplin.
The path of the 2011 tornado can still be discerned through Campbell Park South.

Walking and running at Campbell Parkway
Campbell Parkway is a walkable green space, with gravel trails circling an open, grassy area. The green space is just outside Campbell Park South, but prairie land and walking paths cross over into the neighborhood. "In the summertime, you always see people out there running and walking with their dogs, you see people pushing their strollers," Mishler says. The park also draws attention in the wintertime with around 10 to 20 light displays to celebrate the holidays.

New Traditional homes with prairie views
The area is filled with newer architecture, built after the 2011 Joplin tornado destroyed most of the previous homes. New Traditional homes have various looks, but often come in a single-story ranch layout with brick exteriors. Many overlook the open fields and wildflowers in the center of the neighborhood. Though rarely on the market, homes here typically run between $155,000 and $340,000. Since most residents park on driveways or two-car garages, streets are mostly clear of cars, according to Mishler. "That makes it a wider area for walking."
