Peaceful neighborhood in Joplin's medical district
Despite its busy location sandwiched between Mercy Hospital, Freeman Hospital West and Kansas City University's medical school campus, the Joplin neighborhood of Jackson Hills maintains a peaceful vibe thanks to a tree canopy that helps buffer residents from the noise of medical helicopters and Interstate 44. "The hospitals require some of their doctors to live within a certain distance, so a lot of medical professionals want to be close by," says Clarissa Bowen, Realtor with Pro 100 Realtors and Joplin native.
Jackson Hills is bordered by Main Street on it's eastern edge.

Ranch, split-level and contemportaty homes on wooded lots
Single-family homes here are spread across the hilly, wooded landscape. Ranch, split-level and contemporary homes line the sloping streets in between thickets of trees. Dating from the 1960s through the '90s, some have hardboard siding that may need replacing. Most are perched on lots ranging from a third of an acre to an acre, with fences adding privacy. These properties are rarely on the market, but in the past two years, three homes have sold for between $220,000 and $310,000.
