Kelsey Norman North
Ranch-style homes on larger-than-average lots
Ranch-style houses and split-levels have stood strong since the '60s, thanks to brick construction. "Everyone loves brick homes," Lehmann says. "Utility bills are a big thing and there's no maintenance. With vinyl siding, you have to clean it, but you don't have to clean brick — it looks good forever." Properties have a midcentury vibe inside and out, with original features such as hardwood floors and low horizontal profiles. Despite their age, many also feature attached one- or two-car garages. Properties are situated on third-of-an-acre lots — which is larger than average for Joplin — leaving room for a tire swing in the front yard or an above-ground pool in the back. Prices range from $180,000 to $240,000.Career preparation at Joplin High School
