South Joplin neighborhood developed with luxury in mind
When developers built out the area south of 32nd Street decades ago, Kelsey Norman South was one of Joplin’s fancier neighborhoods. These days other parts of town may better fit our modern definition of luxury, but this community, located about 2 miles from Joplin hospitals and Interstate 44, still maintains its larger homes and quiet feel. "These homes were built with a lot more of a luxury standard than a lot of Joplin," says Gary Mishler, Realtor for Keller Williams Realty Elevate. "A lot of them have structural details that almost look like a castle."
Kelsey Norman South has many Cul De Sacs limiting traffic.
Kelsey Norman South is home to the Freeman Hospital East.

The streetscape features manicured lawns, landscaping, and mature oak canopies. Prices range from around $200,000 to $250,000. Hikes for different skill levels at Wildcat Park
Parks are generally lacking in this section of town, but residents can drive about 4 miles for a taste of nature. At Wildcat Park, hiking trails wind through various landscapes, from rocky chert glades to cool, shady forests. The Bluff Trail is a more strenuous path, but scenic views and picnic tables reward hikers at the top. "That's a mountain of a hill to climb," Mishler says. "But there are also flat trails, so anyone can get out there and enjoy it."
Families enjoy learning about conservation at Wildcat Park.
Fishing is a popular past time at McIndoe Park.
