Preserved nature next to bustling business
The South Florida neighborhood of Jupiter Park, like much of Jupiter itself, was once covered in pine flatwoods. And though the area has long since been developed, there is no shortage of opportunities to appreciate nature in this community. As part of the Jupiter Inlet District, the local government meticulously maintains the nearby Loxahatchee River and its surrounding grounds. Residents can also enjoy sites like the Limestone Creek Natural Area and trips up the Loxahatchee. When they’re done, they can return to a neighborhood central to shops, restaurants, small businesses and schools. “This is a low-key and respectful place,” says Brad Hurst, Realtor and principal of the Bradley Group at Illustrated Properties. “We give each other space because we all love the lifestyle here.”
Compact lots and builds from every decade
Single-family homes in Jupiter Park are generally smaller ranch and slightly larger craftsman-style houses on compact lots in pastel colors. Garages are common, with neat brick and concrete driveways. The neighborhood has seen constant development since the 1960s. "A lot of these communities here have multiple types of housing, single-family, multifamily,” says Pat Fitzgerald, sales manager and broker assistant with Illustrated Properties. “You've got seasonal people and year-round residents. It's just great for everyone, especially families with children." The smaller homes in the area range from $250,000 to $375,000, with the larger houses costing up to $850,000. Townhouses and condos have Monterey and Mediterranean-inspired architecture and run anywhere from $250,000 to $700,000. HOA fees are around $200-$400 monthly.

The wetlands of Limestone Creek Natural Area
The Limestone Creek Natural Area is just across the Loxahatchee River from Jupiter Park. The area is a swampy ecosystem with slow-moving water dark from vegetation decay. A walking path takes visitors through slash pines and saw palmettos. Manatees, tortoises and herons can be seen, depending on the tide level. Within the neighborhood is Cinquez Park, a 13-acre dog park with separate fenced runs for small and large dogs. The park also offers restrooms, a dog washing station, and a lake for catch-and-release fishing. Just up the street is the West Jupiter Recreation Center. The indoor facility has pickleball courts and classrooms, along with a basketball court and play area outdoors.
