Community events in the park
Residents can access a private, gated greenspace overseen by the Fairlane Homes Association, which serves as a designated neighborhood watch area. It features a short trail and ball field and is the central hub for neighbors to meet. In 2023, the neighborhood was awarded $4,000 from the Community Capital Fund to invest in events. Fairline in the Park was born from this initiative—an event with local music, good food, and festivities for the kids. The neighborhood is also adorned with inflatables of Santa and reindeer during the annual Holiday Lighting Contest.
Close to The Hillcrest Community Center
Jerry Darter Park in the southern part of Fairlane is filled with tree-shaded walking trails and picnic tables alongside Interstate 470. Summertime calls for trips to Longview Lake Swim Beach, which is only 6 miles southeast, where locals can cast their lines for Walleye and Crappie or rent a boat and cruise along the 930 acres of water.

Next door, Paul's Drive-In has been a community hub since the early 1960s. Its vintage restaurant sign and old-fashioned interior gives visitors a nostalgic dining experience. Fairlane is also 9 miles from Town Center Plaza, an elevated shopping district with dozens of familiar department stores and dining establishments.

For a three-bedroom home, prices range from $149,000 for 1,400 square feet to $240,000 for over 2,200 square feet. Established in 1955, the Homes Association operates under a Board of Directors. They provide snow plowing, maintain the neighborhood park, and develop specific restrictions and regulations on new construction. They also host designated Dumpster Days in the Park, allowing neighbors to discard unwanted items easily.
