Bungalows, century-old condo buildings and new luxury construction
Condos and town homes comprise most of the neighborhood's housing, but there are some turn-of-the-century and new single-family homes. "The area has a lot of classic condos,” Brown says. “Some are 50 to 100 years old, but newer renovations are coming right off Madison Avenue and Summit Street." Parkway Plaza and The Tudors are among the newer developments. These luxury townhomes, built in 2019, can sell for up to $1.5 million for two bedrooms. Condominiums in older buildings like the Brentwood Condominiums, Parkway Towers and The Brownstones on Broadway can sell for between $200,000 and $300,000. Bungalows and American Foursquares built in the early 1900s sell for between $250,000 and $490,000. In contrast, new luxury Craftsman-inspired homes at Plaza Heights sell in the $700,000s. Homeowners Association fees vary significantly among condos, from $250 per month to over $1,000 per month for luxury developments like The Tudors.
