They move there to get lower home prices and be 15 minutes from Downtown Kansas City,” says Matthew Webb, an experienced Realtor and team leader with Keller Williams Platinum Partners. Homes might sit on the market for less than a week, while others take closer to a month to find a new owner. Residents often live in three primary communities: Southern Hills, Birchwood Hills or the Calumet area.

The Red Bridge Shopping Center sees guests stopping by to dine out, so residents visit Grandview to shop at Ross, Burlington or T. J. Maxx.
Dollar General sits nearby for locals to stop by for last-minute essentials, and residents can also get their daily groceries at the Price Chopper off Interstate 49 or the Aldi on Blue Ridge Boulevard.
