Mansions, American Foursquares and bungalows coexist with condos
Southmoreland has a mix of home styles and price points. Many homes were built in the early 20th century."It’s a timeless neighborhood with traditional classic architecture. You see a lot of stone detail, very much an estate-like feel," says Paul Galbrecht, a Realtor with KW Kansas City Metro who's been selling homes in the area for 8 years.
American Foursquares with stone columns and covered front porches sell for between $265,000 and $425,000. A one-bedroom single-story condo can sell for $125,000, while one- to two-bedroom condos in converted Neoclassical buildings and mansions sell for between $200,000 and $325,000. Large balconies on many of these homes and condos offer views of the annual Plaza lighting ceremony that takes place at sundown every Thanksgiving.
