Budget-friendly meets suburban comfort

What was once a booming industrial center with steel and textile mills has become a thriving residential community. Kenhorst is a suburban borough in Berks County, 3 miles east of Reading and 14 miles west of the Schuylkill River. Oak and maple trees line wide gridded streets with sidewalks. "Many people move to this area for the Governor Mifflin School District," says Katie Broskey, a Realtor with Keller Williams Platinum Realty, previously a schoolteacher in the district. "It's also very affordable."
