Northwest Kernersville is a quiet, yet convenient area

The quiet community of Northwest Kernersville is made up of large lots and leafy streets, much of it close to outdoor recreation, shopping and dining. “In Kernersville, even when you’re on the outskirts, you’re still a part of the community,” says local Realtor Angelique Smith of High Key Realty, who has 10 years of experience.

Northwest Kernersville homes sell for above the Forsyth County median

Homes here are newer than those in central Kernersville. “It’s mostly well-established communities from the ‘80s and ‘90s,” Smith says. New Traditionals, Colonial Revivals and farmhouses are common, as are split-levels, cottages and ranch-style homes. Many have broad, grassy front lawns shaded with longleaf pines, oaks and tulip poplars.
Townhomes and condos are available in subdivisions like Wynston Park and Windsor Manor Condominiums. Single-family homes sell for between about $140,000 and $830,000, depending on size and condition. Townhomes and condos range from under $100,000 to around $215,000. Northwest Kernersville’s median is close to $355,000, higher than the Forsyth County median of $315,000 reported by the North Carolina Realtors association.

Creeks in the area pose a minor flood risk, and Kernersville is moderately vulnerable to tornadoes and hurricanes.
