Genesee Central is a foothills neighborhood with many community groups
In the foothills west of Denver, Genesee Central’s residential streets wind through pine tree forests. “It’s a great location; only 20 [miles] to downtown, but it feels like it's a world away,” says Carolyn Kenney, a broker associate with HomeSmart who has over two decades of experience. “It’s a tranquil bedroom community, but vibrant in the sense that the community is involved. There are a couple of clubhouses, a library and lots of groups like quilting, biking and hiking.”

Residents and guests can access any facility in the greater Genesee community, including clubhouses, some with a pool, a playground and tennis and pickleball courts. The association maintains over 12 miles of trails that weave through the foothills and have views of the Front Range. Additional trails, ranging from a mile long to over 6 miles, are just west of the neighborhood in Genesee Park. Less than 10 miles away, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater has various multi-use paths and is well-known for its outdoor amphitheater. The venue consists of red sandstone monoliths and has hosted live concerts since 1906. “You’re also close to Loveland for skiing and Evergreen in the winter, where people play ice hockey on the lake,” Kenney says.
