The Red Wind Casino is opening up a branch here, which should draw a lot of people.” The area has become one of Lacey’s main commercial hubs, with Hawks Prairie Village Mall serving as the central shopping area for much of East Lacey. The mall and surrounding area are home to a range of big box stores, including Walmart, Costco and Cabela's, along with supermarkets like Safeway and WinCo Foods. Warehouses and distribution centers for these large companies, and others like Amazon, comprise most of the northeast part of the neighborhood. There are also a growing number of unique local shops in the area, like Shipwreck Beads in north Hawks Prairie, which claims to have the world’s largest selection of beads.
