Center Post's quiet rural character and large plots
The quiet community of Center Post is located in rural Northwest Georgia, right off Highway 337. Tradition says the name stems from a wooden post that used to stand in front of the general store, where customers would hitch their horses in the days of yore. Today, the community is more countryside than commercial. Homebuyers are drawn to the area's large plots and relative isolation near a few small towns like LaFayette. “It’s a pretty country setting for somebody who wants that country feel and the possibility of getting a little bit of acreage,” says Tanner Heyer, originally from Northwest Georgia and now a real estate agent with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Jackson Realty. “There are bigger parcels out there. It’s a very quiet area.”
