Four-day school week at Vinton Elementary
At the center of the neighborhood, Vinton Elementary is this neighborhood's easily-walkable elementary school, earning a B-minus from Niche. With approval from the State Board of Education, in the 2024-2025 school year, Vinton will become the first school in Indiana to operate on a four-day school week. The shift will benefit parents looking for a better work-life balance, Preston says. While the school embraces innovative changes, it is also known for tradition, serving families through multiple generations. "We love the history and pride that comes with our school community," Preston says.Through the Lafayette School Corporation, kids can attend Sunnyside Intermediate for fifth and sixth grade, and Tecumseh Junior High for seventh and eighth grade. Both schools earn a B-minus. Jefferson High, earning a B-plus, helps teens earn early college credits with over 60 dual enrollment classes.
