Collection of custom architecture in Vinton Woods
This neighborhood features a collection of unique architecture. Single-family homes from the '60s through the early 2000s are located throughout the neighborhood, including ranches, raised ranches, bi-levels and tri-levels. With many custom homes, there is plenty of variation between the styles. "For instance, there are a few different bi-levels on Hemlock Road," Smith says. "They are all unique and have a different look to them." Spacious front yards are large enough for several mature trees. Regardless of style, prices can range from $217,000 to $435,000.Fun and friendships at the Summer Kick-Off Party
The clubhouse and pool also draw crowds at annual events. The Summer Kick-Off Party rings in the season with a pool party and cookout. It's also a great way for neighbors to meet their neighbors. "Even though I've been here for five years, I don't know everyone, so it's fun to pick a table to sit down and meet new people," says HOA secretary Janna Bennett.Fish and wildlife at the community ponds
Outdoor recreation is available at the heart of the neighborhood. Three ponds in the neighborhood were dredged and refilled in 2023, offering a relaxing spot to fish. Deer and coyotes sometimes emerge from the tree line around the ponds. The clubhouse has an outdoor pool and indoor space for private events of up to 100 people. The pond at Munger Park is another popular fishing spot. Bordering the neighborhood's south side, this 32-acre park also features a 1-mile paved walking trail and a multi-age playground.Indian flavors at Sharma's Kitchen
Local eats are just around the corner. Popular local restaurants are located southwest of the neighborhood on Sagamore Parkway. Sharma's Kitchen buzzes with activity during dine-in service Tuesday through Thursday and the Indian buffet Friday through Sunday. Taco Rico is a casual spot for Mexican cuisine in the same plaza. The long list of taco flavors includes al pastor, chorizo, shrimp and fish. A1 is a nearby pit stop for the bare essentials, while Target has a more comprehensive grocery selection about 2 miles south.Greenbush and Erie Streets go downtown
Although it's a quiet retreat, Vinton Woods offers access to the city center. Bordering the neighborhood's south side, Greenbush Street is a westward connection to Erie Street, leading to downtown Lafayette. Sidewalks are not widely available within the neighborhood, but Pine Lane is a bike-friendly road leading south to Munger Park. Public transportation is available via the 1A bus, with stops along Greenbush Street.Performing arts at Jefferson High
Lafayette School Corporation oversees the city's learning facilities, earning an overall B-plus. Younger students can start at Glen Acres Elementary, which earns a B. From fifth through eighth grade, students can attend Sunnyside Intermediate and Tecumseh Junior High, earning a B-minus. Jefferson High School completes the pipeline, earning an A-minus from Niche. The high school fosters performing arts skills with orchestra, jazz band, show choir and music theory classes.
