Acadiana Mall offers shopping, arcade games and a children’s play zone
At the heart of the neighborhood is the Acadiana Mall. This enclosed shopping center serves the greater Acadiana region and has done for over 40 years. Opened in 1979, the mall has become an anchor of the community more than just economically. In 2005, it became the staging area for the group of volunteers known as the Cajun Navy, who rescued thousands of flooding victims during Hurricane Katrina. Open seven days a week, the center offers stroller and wheelchair rentals as well as a children’s area complete with a bungee jump trampoline, arcade and Build-a-Bear Workshop.Nearby, two of the city’s favorite restaurants are waiting to be sampled.
