They can also go to the Vermilionville Historic Village to learn more about folklife near the banks of the Bayou Vermillion River from the mid-18th century to the late 19th century. Visitors visit the Healer’s Garden to learn about medicinal plants used by Creole, Cajun, African Americans and Native Americans in the area during that period or learn more about the area’s culture through guided tours, cooking classes and live music.
