The Laflin recreation board organizes events for kids
The Laflin Borough has a dedicated recreation board, which organizes events for children around Easter, Halloween and Christmas. They also hold a six-week summer day camp for Laflin youth. “We have AARP driving courses at the library and make-and-take crafts. We do story time and nature programs as well,” Coassolo says. About 6 miles southwest is the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre, which holds concerts and events to suit various interests. The Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, also about 6 miles away, brings in nationally known comedians and musicians and is the home of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey team.
