Luxury living near the beach

Resting against a backdrop of massive nature preserves, Kapalua is also rimmed with white sand beaches and filled with an array of attractions, resort accommodations and world-class golf. Todd Hudson, Realtor with the 808 Team of Keller Williams, says, “In Kapalua you have this amazing weather pattern where it sprinkles, but by afternoon it’s gorgeous. There’s always just this gentle wind, too, so it’s not so hot. And from some of the homes here on cliffs you get breathtaking 180-degree views. It’s really luxury at its best on the west side.”

Townhomes, condos and mansions

In Kapalua, residents find prestigious oceanfront and oceanview condominiums in the Ironwoods community for around $4 million, with exclusive resident access to a solar-heated pool and recreation facilities. These homes are not permitted for vacation rental, so residents enjoy a private Kapalua paradise with direct Oneloa Bay beach access. Homes surrounding the Kapalua Plantation Golf Course include single-family mansions built in the early 2000s featuring elaborate pools and spectacular ocean views for around $2.5 million. You can also find townhouses near the beach at Napili Gardens for around $3 million.

World-class golf and beaches

One of Kapalua’s most striking features is its manicured world-class golf courses. The Plantation Course is built around the West Maui Mountains and has been home to the PGA Sentry Tournament of Champions since 1999. Considered one of the area’s signature events, the Sentry Tournament of Champions raises substantial donations for area charities. The Bay Course’s rolling fairways offer views of the Pacific amid tall palms and exotic flowers. It’s known for its 17th hole, the only hole you’ll play over the ocean on Maui. Since it opened in 1975, its hosted more than 20 major professional tournaments.

Residents can step into the stunning stretch of cones on Kapalua’s shore known as Dragon’s Teeth, where the ancient West Maui Volcano lava collided with fierce ocean waves, creating a light-colored, dense natural wonder that’s a well-known attraction. Venture further out toward the ocean and you can marvel at the Kapalua Labyrinth and the gray lava formations at Dragon’s Pointe on the peninsula’s farthest tip.
