It’s got lakes, it’s got fishing, it’s close to Winterhaven for shopping and not far from I-4,” says Steve Pospichal, a local realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty. “We used to swim in Lake Alfred at Lions Park when I was a kid. It’s just a nice community.” Though visiting Lake Alfred for a dip in the water or to munch on fresh seafood is popular, living in this small and peaceful community is something special. With a population of just over 5,000, this lakefront town contains a close-knit community of neighbors who love to fish and boat. I think Polk County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the U.S. and I know it’s not slowing down.”

Meanwhile, the Lake Alfred Diner is beloved for its homestyle cooking and friendly service. For groceries, residents merely have to drive 10 minutes west on Highway 92 to get to the local Winn-Dixie.
